The DOL is looking for comments regarding fees on 401(k) plans.

Following a Congressional hearing concerning administrative and investment management fees charged to participant-directed DC plans and disclosure of those fees to participants, the DOL has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking additional information on these subjects.

The DOL is seeking public comments and recommendations from plan participants, plan sponsors, plan service providers, members of the financial community and the general public as to what actions should be taken to ensure that participants and beneficiaries have sufficient information to make informed and cost-effective decisions regarding the management of their retirement savings accounts and associated investments.

The deadline for making written or email comments is July 24, 2007.
