Back-to-Basics Seminar

Why You Should Attend:

This intensive two-day program gives the attendee a basic-to-intermediate level understanding of the different types of Defined Contribution Plans. We will cover the fundamentals of Profit Sharing, Money Purchase, 401(k) Plans, Safe-Harbor 401(k) Plans, QACA, EACA, ACA, SIMPLE IRA and other plans. This will enable the attendee to match the employer’s goals with the proper plan design.

Who Should Attend:

This Class is designed for those who have limited experience in the employee benefits field (generally, two months to two years working with retirement plans) or who need a refresher in the basic-to-intermediate level matters involving retirement plan administration and plan design.

Curriculum Highlights:

You will cover Eligibility, Participation, Vesting, Employer/Employee Contributions, Highly Compensated Employees, Key Employees, Top-Heavy Rules, Annual Limitations, Deductions, Distribution Rules (such as, in service, hardship, joint and survivor annuity rules, eligible rollover rules, required minimum distributions, a deceased participant's required minimum distribution rules for the beneficiary, corrective distributions and exceptions to the premature distribution penalty), Participant Loans, 401(k) Contribution Scenarios and Plan Design Concepts, Antidiscrimination Testing (ADP and ACP Testing), Disclosure Requirements for Participants and Beneficiaries, Form 5500 and Bonding Requirements will all be discussed.
